In nature there are Loose Parts everywhere. You may find Loose Parts such as sticks, leaves, pine cones, feathers, and much more around your neighbourhood or in a local park, or even in your own backyard.
After collecting found from the ground, look at the shapes, smells, or textures. Play with laying them out into different designs.
After some playful exploration, and noticing all of the spiders out at this time of the year, one of our StrongStart facilitators made this spider for you. below.
What inspired you to create?
This is a simple activity. Ask your children to collect some leaves and give them a glue, googly eyes and some markers to decorate the leaf and make their own leaf monster . What might a leaf monster sound like?
Create different voices and make your leaf monsters say silly words or sounds together.
This activity supports child's creativity, encourages child's imagination and also teaches them sustainable practices .
You can use the items from the nature such as rocks, sea shells , leaves , sticks ,pine cones ,etc. You can also use items you have at home such as straws, beads, buttons, pom poms , wool , recycles bottle caps etc. Choose and use items that do not pose any hazard to your child.
Children start learning math concepts when they start picking the objects and manipulating them.
