This is a simple and easy craft to make with the children. For this activity, you will need peanut butter
(You can also use soya butter if there is a concern for allergy) , bird seeds, toilet paper roll, you can also use paper towel roll cut in half, string of yarn .
Spread the peanut butter on the toilet paper roll. Roll the toilet paper over the bird seeds. The bird seeds should stick itself on the peanut butter. lastly, attach the string so that can be hung.
Hang it in your garden and get to the bird watching action.
Tape Walk
Supplies- Tape ( I prefer electrical tape or painters tape because its easy to remove) , some floor space, and a bell (optional)
Use the tape to create a path to walk on. The children will love winding and following the line. Children can use various ways to move on the line- jump, heel to toe, backwards etc. Concept such as under or over and backwards and forward can be talked about by adding things to the tape walk.
For added difficult and to turn this into a mindful practice add a bell. Ask the child if they can move on the tape path without making the bell ring. To silence the bell the child will need to self regulate and move their body slowly and carefully.
