Make a paper flower and attach a popsicle stick on the flower as a stem.
Write the word frog, duck, flower, and raindrops on the popsicle stick. On a small piece of paper, write down activities ( jump like a frog or waddle like a duck) attach it on the back of the corresponding flower.
Place the flowers on the flower pot. You can ask children to take turns picking up the flower. Read the back of the flower and announce what the children have to do. For example, if they pick a purple flower (frog), they have to jump like a frog. This activity is great for gross motor and can be done both indoors and outdoors.
Ribbon Dancing
My friend Miss Selena taught me this easy and inexpensive way to make a dancing ribbon.
Supplies- Foam cylinder or chopsticks, and some excavator ribbon, and tape.
Ribbon dancing is a great way to extend dancing. Through the use of the ribbon children can learn concepts such as up, down, side, back, front. They can explore moving the ribbon fast and slow.
