The idea for making a cardboard box came from children singing , "the wheels on the bus" . The materials needed for this school bus is two cardboard boxes, construction papers, glue , tape, markers, scissors and paint. Start with two empty cardboard boxes. Use the big one for the cabin and smaller box for the engine . Attach the smaller box to the front of the big one. Ask children to paint the box and wait till its dry. Cut the construction paper in the shape of the wheels and the head light and glue it on the bus. Use a round cardboard piece as a steering wheel . You can add few chairs inside the bus. Once the bus is ready, children will have lots of fun driving the bus and imagining where they are going. You can also give them some make believe tickets and money to use with the bus. They will learn to take turns, to be a bus driver, and enjoy singing " The Wheels on the Bus" .
