Foundations of Foods and Nutrition B

Foundation of Foods and Nutrition B is an introductory culinary arts course, which will cover the basic concepts of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and related consumer decisions. During the semester, students will use reading, writing, science, and mathematics skills related to nutrition and food preparation. Through virtual lectures, virtual laboratory activities, and demonstrations, students will learn to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, make informed food choices for themselves, and how to create & serve food attractively. Foods and Nutrition is a 5 credit course that fulfills the A-G requirement of the UC/CSU Subject Area Requirements.
