What is Leadership?

There are many different types of leadership and each person suits their own type. Leadership is when someone takes initiative for their group and stands up amongst a group. In STEM we learned of many different leadership types and how each student can relate to one. We even found out what type of leader we are. I am a situational leader which means I will become the leader of a group depending on the scenario. For example, if I see that my group is not performing so well, I will step up and try to lead my group to success. On the right, you can see the different leadership traits and styles there are.

Confidence Tester

In order to test one of the most important leadership traits, my group decided to make a series of difficult questions for students to answer. We would record each of their answers and see how well they were able to come up with an answer on the spot. Some key features noted was confidence, voice projection, filler words, poise, and timing for each question. This project helped us define our strengths when it came to thinking quick and what we had to work on more.

Leader Presentation!

In STEM students got to pick a person that they believe is a leader and make a presentation based on why they think that they are a leader. For example, the teacher made a presentation on how Adolf Hitler was a great leader. Now his morals might have been bad but his leading skills were immaculate. I decided to pick a professional shot put thrower, David Storl. This helped STEM students understand what makes a good leader a leader and what traits help them be a leader.
