You Lucky Duck

Students stare at Ms. Becky with confusion as she holds up a basket of rubber ducks.  Is she awarding us with bath toys?  What does she expect us to do with rubber ducks?  She then tells a story about an article she read about a lady who loved the look of someone’s Jeep and placed a rubber duck on the windshield.  This started a craze of Jeep owners being surprised with a rubber duck.  As Ms. Becky was sitting in the parking lot staring at a Jeep who had a whole dashboard full of ducks, God presented a strange, yet, fun way to witness for Him.  Within days she had received a container full of rubber ducks.  The next question arose, what should be written on the note that would attach to each duck?  After prayerful consideration, God revealed that the message should be catchy and simple.  “You Lucky Duck!!! Jesus Loves You” came to her mind along with the verse from Romans 8:39 which says, “Nothing can separate you from the love of God.”

A few weeks later she was standing before the students of Taylor Mill Christian Academy explaining September’s RAK (Random Act of Kindness), putting ducks on the windshield of Jeeps.  Before handing out the ducks, she and the students prayed that this little Random Act of Kindness would reach the heart of someone who needed to know that nothing he/she has done can separate him/her from the love of God.

Do you need to be reminded that “You are a Lucky Duck?”  Jesus loves you and NOTHING can separate you from the love of God.”  Romans 8:39
