Murfreesboro Adventist School

We are praising God here in Murfreesboro!  We have seen Him working powerfully by re-opening our school during the pandemic which had been closed for 18 years.  Our old school building has been completely re-modeled, debt free.  We’ve passed state inspections, including the fire inspections which required a fire alarm system.  We have seen our enrollment grow from 7 – 17 students.  To top it off, we added a Junior Academy and an after-school program.

We are very blessed to have a great staff, which includes paid and volunteer workers.  We have an Art program complete with art techniques, history, and lots of hands-on projects, headed by Joani Louden.  We have a music program which includes private instrument lessons and choir.  The students demonstrate their music skills during our school programs.   We have a gymnastics program headed by Coach Kim Bridges. The students are learning gymnastic skills and have already put together a routine that was performed during our Christmas Program.  Our Gymnastics’ team is going to perform their routine at the Jasper Adventist Christian School and at the Highland Gymnastics Weekend.  We have an organic agricultural program run by Pastor Milano, our Pastor.  The students have built 2 green houses, 2 big grow boxes, and have already grown and sold garlic and tomatoes.  We have just added organic sprouts to our list.  Mrs. Milano does 7th, 8th , and 9th grade math and helps in many other ways, including running our hot lunch program.  Once a week she works with the 7th – 9th graders cooking up very healthy organic meals.  All the students join in the clean-up afterward.  We also have volunteers that come in and help with small group instruction.

Our junior academy is running smoothly with our teachers and volunteers who make it a successful program.  We also have volunteers maintaining a flower garden in front of our school.  Murfreesboro Adventist School and Junior Academy is successful because of the Murfreesboro Church’s vision to have a church school and the many volunteers that hold the school up in prayer, and give their time, talents, and resources.
