Q. Summarise what you did in this activity/project and how you interacted with others?
A. In this creativity, I participated in national science day competition which was held in Kodaikanal Solar Observatory. I was able to get the first prize in the national science day quiz and got the opportunity to represent Kodaikanal International School in Indian Institute Of Astrophysics.
Q. Explain what you hoped to accomplish through this activity/project?
A. I did not hope to reach the level of winning the competition and representing my school so achieving first prize in this quiz was unexpectable but I hoped to get a decent score and participation certificate which would have looked nice on my resume.
Q. How successful were you in achieving your goals? What difficulties did you encounter and how did you overcome them?
A. I was successful in achieving my goal as I got more than what I expected and the difficulties I faced during this competition was answering some questions which I have never learned in my school and I overcame this problem by following my guts and managing to answer most of the question correctly.
Q. What did you learn about yourself and others through this activity/project?What abilities, attitudes, and values have you developed?
A. This activity helped me in realizing and overcoming my fear of public speaking. I have never thought that I had it in me but this small nudge helped me to propel forward and drive through my fear. I have gained the ability to talk publicly and express my opinions. This experience taught me to stand boldly and articulate what I want to say clearly and coherently. I have developed a positive attitude against my fears and I have understood the value of what your fear is stopping you from.
Q. How did this creativity/project benefit others?
A. This experience benefitted me rather than other people, As I gained the opportunity of meeting other people and discovering that many of them have the same interests.
Q. How can you apply what you have learned in other life situations?
A. This activity has taught me to stand boldly and understand different perspectives about a certain topic. It also showed me to be assertive and to be confident with what I speak. Whenever situations arise whether it is a causal discussion or a peak debate about a point, I would definitely apply what I have learned in this experience.
