Please remember to complete a special diet request form at the link below for the following situations
Any new nursery pupils starting in August who have special dietary requirements for medical, allergy/intolerance, ASN or ethical/religious requirements.
Any special diet pupils who are moving from nursery to primary or primary to secondary school
Any special diet pupils who have changes to their requirements from their most recent submission, remember to include all current requirements
We do NOT need a new form for other existing special diet pupils.
Please submit these early in the summer holidays as approval of requests submitted after 10th August may be delayed. The current menu does not change after the summer.
Request a special diet - Special diets in schools - Highland Council click on the ‘request a special diet for a pupil’ box, parents/carers can progress without an account. If you do not have your child’s SCN number you can proceed without it. Complete and submit the form to come to the special diet team to be approved. You should receive an automatic response with a case number if you have submitted correctly. The information is then communicated to the catering and education staff where appropriate as well as the relevant special diet menu sent to parents if needed

The Food Standards Agency is advising people who have a peanut allergy to avoid consuming foods that contain or may contain mustard, mustard powder or mustard flour because they may have been contaminated with peanuts.
Catering services have consulted our suppliers, Brakes. Although they are not supplied by the company at the centre of this issue, they are taking the extra precaution of checking the products they supply for possible contamination.
Catering services have alerted all our cooks to the products in question and they have been advised to ensure none of these products are used in any items provided to the pupils we have registered with a nut allergy until further notice. Where possible alternative products have been advised.
We are increasing the signage in our secondary schools for pupils with nut allergies to ask our staff for advice. We do not have a record of ALL pupils with allergies in our secondary schools as many pupils self-manage their own requirements.
If your child attends secondary school and has a nut allergy we’d ask that you make them aware to check the labelling of any pre-packaged item they may choose at school. Any pre-packaged items listed as contains or may contain mustard should be avoided by pupils with peanut/nut allergies until further notice.
