Dear Parent/Carer/Pupils of S3-S5

As pupils move through the senior phase, they will be asked to make subject choices. At KHS, we offer a range of qualifications including Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, Skills for Work awards and National Progression Awards (NPAs). Some courses end with an exam, while others are based on continuous assessment.

If your child is considering university, it’s important to check the entry requirements for their intended course, as this may influence which subjects they choose.

Please find below important information regarding the course choice process for pupils entering S4, S5 and S6.

Digital Copy

The digital version of the Course Choice booklet provides details about the wide range of subjects available in S4, S5 and S6.    Senior Choice March 2026
Pages 2–3 include lists of all courses, each with links to further information to help pupils make well‑informed decisions about their subject choices.

Paper Copy (these were handed out in registration this morning to pupils)

The paper copy is where pupils must record their final subject choices. Please read the first page of instructions and then ensure:

• One tick is placed in each column on page 2.

• The form is completed and signed by a parent/carer.

• The paper copy must also be taken to your Pathways Meeting (dates and times have been emailed previously).

• The completed form is handed in to the Front Office by Friday 13th March 2026.
