Dear Falcon Families,
It's been an eventful and festive four-day week at FES! I have loved seeing the creativity and excitement around the spirit days, homecoming parade, and the Glow Run! Thank you for your support of PTA's Booster Drive and for participating in the fun activities this week! I cannot say enough about how much it means both to our students and our staff to have your participation and involvement.
As we move further into the month of September, we are continuing our focus on student learning growth this month as we continue with our first week of MAP testing and continue with our beginning of the year units. We are off to a strong start as we look to support each of our students in their growth as learners and leaders this year!
Wishing you all a restful weekend, especially after all that fun-running today!
In Falcon Spirit,
Courtney Brandel
The magic school bus was full of Florence Falcon spirit, as we cruised down Johnson Rd in support of Keller High School homecoming! Thank you to all the students and parents who rode the float or came to the parade to support!
Thank you to Abbie Aubrey, PTA Committee Leader, for a wonderful HOCO Float this year! A total winner in our eyes! Thank you to all that contributed!
Glow Run Fun!

NWEA MAP Testing Window is Open
All KISD students participate in the NWEA MAP Test which is an assessment that provides us with standards based data that allows us to measure each student's growth throughout the year. This tool provides teachers with a variety of reports and information that help them to address the unique needs of our students. The test is adaptive, and adjusts based on the response of each student, which provides us with information to determine which skills and concepts they have mastered and which they may need additional reinforcement. MAP data "talks" with many of our resources, such as Dreambox, to allow us to personalize these practice activities based on student needs. For more information about MAP, please watch the video on the the NWEA site: https://www.nwea.org/resource-center/resource/what-is-map-growth/ or visit with your child's teacher for more information about your child's progress. We will inform you when your child's results are available in Aeries and teachers will be sharing the family report with you when those become available.
⬅️One- Way Exits➡️
During arrival and dismissal times, parents who drop off or pick up in front of the school (3rd-4th grade), please be sure that you only turn left on Harrell so that we are able to continue the flow of traffic on our K-2 side. If you do turn right, please be prepared to wait for the traffic on the K-2 side to clear.
Likewise, parents who drop off on the north side of the school (K-2) please be sure to only turn right when exiting the building. This helps to ensure the flow of traffic is smooth and not congested in front of the school.

September 28 (Last Name A-H) and September 29 (Last Name I-Z)
We welcome our grandparents/ important person to join our students during their student's 30 minute lunch time and then, during their recess time to visit library where they can enjoy browsing the book fair, share with your student some some special activities facilitated by our PTA, and enjoy the special time together. Please note, for confidentiality and to maintain the learning environment throughout our campus, guests will not be able to visit classrooms on this day.
Parents, please complete the following form if you and/or a family member would like to join us for our Grandparent's/ Important Person Luncheon. PLEASE COMPLETE ONE FORM PER STUDENT by no later than Thursday, September 21 to allow time for planning.
