Mrs. Brandel's Message

Happy Summer, Florence Families!

I hope that you are all enjoying some time with your families, time at home, and doing all the things you love doing most!

I have officially moved into my office at FES and could not be more excited to have everyone back in August to kick off the 2023-2024 school year! We have had a great summer at FES in preparation for the upcoming year! This June, our campus stayed active with summer school, Theater camp, PE camp, and we even hosted other elementary schools' summer camps here.  This month, our amazing custodians have been hard at work getting everything into tip-top shape, making sure our classrooms, hallways, and floors are as shiny as they were on the first day the doors opened, and are preparing our beautiful campus for the year ahead!  We have been completing the hiring process and I cannot wait for you to get to know the incredible new teachers and staff who will be joining the FES family this year!

As you visit your local stores, you may have noticed that school supplies are already on display signifying that the 23-24 school year is on the horizon... which means we have just one month to go before the first day of school. Please take a look at the important information in the summer newsletter.  We will be sharing more information with you as we get closer to the start of school, but I wanted to be sure to connect with you now so you are able to plan ahead.

I am eagerly anticipating this new school year, and as I walk through our campus, I cannot wait for our hallways to be filled with the sights, sounds, and excitement of a new school year as we welcome back our students! I look forward to welcoming and getting to know our new and returning students, their families, and working together in continuing to build upon the FES tradition of excellence! I am excited to partner with our teachers, staff, and families in support of our students this year! I hope you all enjoy your final month of summer and cannot wait to see you all soon!

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our office at 817-744-4700.

 In Falcon Spirit,

Courtney Brandel

"I am SO excited to be part of this wonderful school family! I've been teaching for twenty years. I taught third grade, first grade, and served as a reading interventionist. I love to watch my kids grow and blossom throughout the year and getting to know each kid for exactly who they are.My husband is a captain at the Keller Fire Department. We have three wonderful children. Riley is our oldest and she is 16 years old, Joseph is 14 years old, and Hudson is 12 years old. I went to high school in Glendora, California and then I moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. Go Red Raiders! "

"Hey Florence Family! I feel so grateful to be a part of what I know is such a wonderful school community. My family including my husband, our two children, and two pets live nearby in north Fort Worth. Kellene "Kelly" Roberts

Librarian

"Hi, my name is Kelly Roberts, and have been in education for 30 years. I began my life's story in teaching at the 1st-grade level and continued to explore many grade levels. I transitioned to the role of Media Literacy Specialist in 2011, working in eight schools, K-12th. I was blessed to work with many wonderful principals, teachers, paraprofessional staff members, and amazing students. My relocation to Florence Elementary/Keller ISD was to live closer to my grown children and one adorable grandson. I am excited to begin this new chapter with all the wonderful families and school family at Florence Elementary School."

Terra Peters

My family originated in southern California, where I met my awesome husband and started our family of four. We moved to Anchorage, AK in 2004 where we raised our two sons until 2012. In 2012, we moved to Texas, where we now call home. My sons are both graduates from Central High School and are currently in college. There isn't an adventure too big that I would love to go on. Our family loves to camp, hike, fish, swim, enjoy the outdoors, listen to music and try to make each other laugh as often as possible.I am starting my 9th year at KISD! I started my adventure at Keller High School in 2015 for 6 years working as the 504/ISS data clerk and the Counseling Office Manager. I transferred to Indian Springs Middle School in 2021, where I served as the Campus Secretary for two years. I am excited for the opportunity to continue as Campus Secretary here at Florence Elementary and to be joining the FES team! Go Falcons!I
