January 29-February 2
Week 21
Courtney Brandel
Principal
Dear Falcon Families,
It's been another exciting and action packed week at Florence Elementary School for the Falcon Family! We kicked off the week with our 3rd grade Film Festival where our third grade students shared their short films, stop motion animation, Claymation, and group projects in their class watch parties! We recognized our Teacher and Support Staff Members of the year, surprising them during our morning announcements. They were both so surprised and it was so much fun to share in celebrating these amazing ladies with our students!
Throughout the week, we had excitements of learning across all grade levels. Our Honor Choir students participated in the district honor choir workshop and performance last evening and did an incredible job shining on stage!
We ended our week with a hootin' and hollerin' good time with Western day during co-curr for each grade level~! I must say, I think of all of the Florence traditions, Western Day might be a strong contender for my favorite so far!
Thank you to our Co-curr team who orchestrated and facilitated such fun activities for our students! From dancing, to bucking broncos, to a wagon drive, students had a great time! A special thank you to Mrs. Caren Pawlak, our PTA Western Day committee chair for creating such a wonderful environment and experience for our students! Thank you to all of our Rodeo Clown Dads who made the memories extra fun for our students and to all of our PTA members for help with decorations, hay delivery, and clean up! It's always incredible to see what the Falcon family can achieve and the experiences created for students! Thank you!
We look forward to another week of excellence next week, as we hold our next CEIC meeting and move into the month of Feburary where we will look forward to some field trips, the 100th day of school, and a couple of days of holiday in between, along with celebrating our friendships in our Valentines Day parties!

Wind chill or actual temperature between 40-32 degrees Fahrenheit – Students must have the ability to cover all extremities. Limited outside activity not to exceed 20 minutes.
Wind chill or actual temperature below 32 degrees Fahrenheit – No outside activity.
Please be sure your child is dressed for the cold weather with their arms, legs, and body covered and with a coat, gloves, and winter hat on cold days.
We are in the midst of cold and flu season and recognize that many of our families have been impacted. Our custodial team is continuing to disinfect and clean our school according to the district guidelines and processes. We also continue to encourage healthy practices of handwashing, covering your cough/ sneeze, taking care of your body, and remaining away from others you are sick.
