Welcome to Middle School
Grade 5 Transition
Grade 5 Transition
August will not be here soon enough. We can't wait for the time when we can finally greet our new 6th graders and include you into the fold of our MS campus. More freedom, more choice, and yes, more responsibility awaits you as you begin this next exciting step in your learning journey. Families, please know that we are here to support your children. Our aim to have our students love to come to school every day, be challenged academically, athletically and achieve individual holistic excellence. Be sure to enjoy your final days as 5th graders. Welcome to MS!
All the best,
Mr. Bohnen

Activities & Experiential Learning
Here at JIS we have amazing opportunities to experience learning in a wide variety of ways. Through our after school clubs, service opportunities and experiential learning trips like our Extended Study Program students are given the chance to explore the world from different perspectives and using different skill sets.
If you have any questions about clubs, service opportunities, ESP, field trips, volcano groups, Bali stage, special events or any other aspects of student life here at JIS, please don't hesitate to contact me at the email on the left.
If you have any questions about MS athletics, Ken Ratcliffe, our MS athletics coordinator is happy to discuss our options with you. Email him at kratcliffe@jisedu.or.id. I am also happy to answer any athletics questions I can.
We look forward to having you join our MS community!

Middle School Madness and Volcano Groups
Each student is allocated a volcano group to instil community in a competitive, yet fun and friendly manner.
Each quarter culminates with a day of Madness Activities, where students will compete to earn Volcano points and ultimately the opportunity to hold the Calderra Cup above their heads in Bali Stage in celebration.
There are a variety of after school activities offered by teachers. These change on a regular basis depending on teacher availability and student demand
Sign up for ASAs will be sent early in each semester.
Our parent organisations are an important part of the JIS community and contribute greatly to the Middle School. We have several groups that work together to make our community run smoothly.
