In Art class we were learning about Dia de los Muertos. I asked my teacher if I could set up some props in order to take a photo. I wanted to create an image that reminded me of the altars made by the people of Mexico for their loved ones.

I was in Indiana visiting a corn field when I took this photo. The corn was so tall and I tried to get a good composition by using perspective and balance. The focal point is the sunlight which is why I named the image “Positive Outlook”. Even when things are complicated or overwhelming, like the cornstalks, you can find some good peeking through, like the sunlight. I used my cell phone camera to take the picture. It is an iphone XS. I did not use any filters.
