A message from Mrs. King
Parents, we wanted to share information with you about grading at Jackson County. Did you know....Jackson County Elementary Schools use Standards Based Reporting and Report cards.
Jackson County School District Elementary schools utilize a standards based report card to report student growth and grading throughout the school year. Standards-based reporting enables teachers, students, and parents to focus on the learning goals for each student. The report card is broken down by the standards the students will be learning throughout the year based on their grade level.

National I.T Professionals Day is September 19th. We are SO thankful for ALL that Mr. Ryan/G does. He is on hand to help with any tech related issue.
September is Literacy Month
We have several Literacy activities planned for September including two Author visits. Check out the calendar below to see what's happening and for some fun ideas to do at home.

Reminders
Parents have access to Canvas Parent Observer accounts. These accounts will allow you to see an overview of what your child is learning and have access to a "Parent Resource" hub. This hub will have information specific to your child's teacher. You will find information about the teacher, contact information, a daily schedule, grade level standards, etc.
If you have an Infinite Campus parent portal account, you already have an account created! Please see the attached picture for your username and password.
Feel free to email Rebecca West (rebecca.west@jcss.us) if you do not have a parent portal setup or if you are unsure of your username. We would love to get our parents connected on Canvas!
Infinite Campus and Remind
It is VERY IMPORTANT for all families to set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Remind app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. West (rebecca.west@jcss.us). After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Remind app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Remind at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.
