PBIS

Parents, did you know that we are a PBIS School (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)? This means we have a common set of behavior expectations across our school, and we work together to teach, recognize and support positive behavior.  Our behavior system focuses on recognizing  students who demonstrate our Respectful, Responsible and Safe behavioral expectations. Our school-wide program works in conjunction with classroom behavior management systems and goals.
We are implementing DOJO this year as the school-wide platform to give “Panther Points”  throughout the day. Our students can earn rewards throughout the day by meeting our behavior expectations. These rewards are in the form of electronic points and paper tickets. Students can redeem these points for privileges, tangible items, and access to events and experiences. Our expectation is that by rewarding positive behavior, we will see overall behavior improve throughout the school and the number of referrals we have will decrease. We also provide additional opportunities to recognize students within the classroom and across the school.

Just in time information

Pre-Kindergarten lottery registration for the 2024-25 school year is now open. Families can register for the lottery through Friday, February 16. Please note this application does not guarantee admission into a Pre-K program inside the Jackson County School System, but is rather an application into the lottery. JCSS will hold a lottery drawing in March and families will be notified following the drawing. To register, please visit Jackson County Registration. For questions or concerns, please email central_registration@jcss.us.

It is VERY IMPORTANT for all families to set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Remind app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. West (rebecca.west@jcss.us). After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Remind app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Remind at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.
