Attendance
Regular and punctual attendance is essential if students are to receive the maximum benefits from our instructional program. We love seeing your children at school, so please make an effort to be here ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! Our instructional day begins at 7:40 A.M. Any students who arrive after that time need to be accompanied to the office and signed in by a parent or guardian. School dismisses at 2:35 P.M.

Meal Service
Visit Linq Connect to add money to your child's meal accounts or to complete the online application for free or reduced-price meals.
Breakfast is no longer free for all students.
Elementary school meal prices are $1.45 for breakfast and $2.10 for lunch.
Infinite Campus
It is VERY IMPORTANT for all families to set up an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click HERE to set up your child's account. This account allows you to receive important school messages through the Remind app, see student grades and attendance. If you have trouble with this process, email Mrs. West (rebecca.west@jcss.us). After a parent portal account has been activated, please allow 24 hours for the information to sync with the Remind app to be able to message teachers. If you are unable to use Remind at any time, please send your child's teacher an email.
Upcoming Events
September is Literacy Month
We have several Literacy activities planned for September including two Author visits. Check out the calendar below to see what's happening and for some fun ideas to do at home.
Emily Gaddy, will visit WJES on Tuesday, September 12. Emily is the author of “Go Bulldogs!” and “Roll Tide Roll!”. “Go Bulldogs!” and “Roll Tide Roll!” are collegiate children’s books about the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama. Over the past 7 years, she has visited over 70 schools and spoken to over 20,000 students. Along with reading the books, she has encouraged students to write, emphasized the difference between author and illustrator, and described the publishing process. We have linked the order form below if you need to print a copy.

Reminders
Parents have access to Canvas Parent Observer accounts. These accounts will allow you to see an overview of what your child is learning and have access to a "Parent Resource" hub. This hub will have information specific to your child's teacher. You will find information about the teacher, contact information, a daily schedule, grade level standards, etc.
If you have an Infinite Campus parent portal account, you already have an account created! Please see the attached picture for your username and password.
