• Strive to maintain consistency for students with ASD

• Give advance warning and take time to prepare the student for changes in routine/schedule

• Use visuals to help with transitions and learning throughout the day

• Keep distractions and outside stimulation to a minimum during learning

Considerations:

• Students may need to be taught social skills, as well as academics

• Keep calm may help to de-escalate situations

• Try to incorporate students interests in learning
