Copyright Considerations
Best Practices
Don’t scan pages of textbooks, novels, or pictures books that are still currently in print
Don’t upload video or audio from your personal collection
Don’t assume PDFs of books or sheet music found online are there legally
Considerations
Find out if your district has purchased the digital access rights to the textbook
Ask your librarian how many distribution copies the district has purchased for eBooks
Ask publication companies for permission to use the content on a digital platform
Consider using texts that are in the public domain or are considered fair use
