What programmes does the IUMC consortium offer? The consortium offers Medicine at all four member universities. However, Dentistry is available only at University College Cork and Trinity College Dublin.
What is the duration of the programme?
The duration for both programmes is 5 years across all four member universities. University College Dublin and University of Galway additionally offer a 6 year Medicine programme for students who do not meet the entry criteria for the 5 year course.

Do international status students have to take the HPAT test?
No, the HPAT is only required for EU status students applying through the Central Applications Office (CAO) www.cao.ie. UCAT and BMAT are also not required for international students.
What documents are required for international student applications through IUMC?

What documents does the IUMC need from University Advisors/Counsellors?
Reference letters (minimum 1) and predicted grades must be sent directly by the school university counselors/advisors. Please send to office@iumcireland.com.
What information should be included in a reference letter?
A teacher's reference for a student applying should encompass various aspects that shed light on the student's academic abilities, personal qualities, extracurricular contributions and suitability for a career in medicine.
When are the interviews conducted, and how does the selection process work?
Interviews generally occur between February and March. The IUMC streamlines the interview by conducting a single interview that covers all the universities applied to. Generally, successful students receive one offer based on their performance, application and preferences.
What type of interviews are conducted?
The interview are a panel format and usually last 15-20 minutes.
Could you provide further details regarding the CV and Personal Statement requirements?
The Personal Statement has a maximum limit of 700 words. It should illustrate motivations, experiences, skills, and aspirations linked to a future in medicine or dentistry. It should demonstrate understanding of the field, and highlight a commitment to making a positive impact.
For the CV, it should span a maximum of 2 pages. It should encompass essential sections such as education and qualifications, medical-related experiences, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, skills such as leadership and teamwork, hobbies, and interests. Students should utilise concise sentences and bullet points to highlight key information.
How do students apply?

Students can choose between on-campus or off-campus student accommodation. Typically, most students have their own room and share kitchen/dining/living spaces with 3-4 other students.
