CAS Requirements and Student Responsibilities
Summary:
CAS must be completed by every IB Diploma student.
CAS does not have scheduled classes, so study all the sections under this 'Student Responsibilities' tab in order to understand how you can do and complete the CAS in a timely manner.
Here are the key points:
Engage with CAS regularly and ongoingly for at least 18 months during the two-year Diploma Programme.
Try all three strands of CAS in their CAS experiences. Maintain a reasonable balance in the three CAS strands.
At lease one CAS experience in each strand must be supervised by a qualified adult.
Complete at least one CAS project.
Demonstrate CAS engagement and progress on the CAS learning outcomes in the CAS portfolio on ManageBac.
Attend all the scheduled CAS group meetings and individual interviews.
CAS Requirements for the IB Diploma
Successful completion of CAS is required for the award of the IB Diploma.
CAS needs to be continued regularly for at least 18 months with a balance in the three strands of CAS.
CAS formally begins at the start of the IB Diploma students' Junior Year.
CAS portfolios need to be maintained by the Diploma students in order to show the evidence of their CAS engagement and progress.

CAS Progress Reports
It is always helpful to understand the purpose of semester progress reports and how you can use them to make progress to the best of your ability. Read about the connection between the CAS Standard-Based Assessment Report (SBAR) descriptors below and the CAS learning outcomes.
*Note: CAS is not formally assessed for the eligibility to be awarded the IB Diploma. However, it does need to be completed appropriately by meeting the programme requirements, so the ISKL progress reports are issued to remind students of their progress in meeting the timeline and other items. The reports have no impact on a student's academic grade and will not be a part of their official transcript.
