The total resources raised in the last four-year period (2021-2024) with different funding agencies was R$29,293,528.49, considering the funding resources and master's and doctoral scholarships from the CAPES Academic Excellence Program (PROEX), the amounts raised with annual budget resources from IME that were allocated to PPGCEM/IME for the purchase of consumables and permanent equipment (this four-year period only small-scale), equipment maintenance service contracts, travel and per diem costs for those PPG members with an employment relationship with the Ministry of Defense (Civilian Professors, Federal Servants and Active Military, and active military officer students) in order to participate in congresses and visits associated with PPGCEM/IME activities.
In addition to the diversification of research topics, project proposals were submitted to FINEP, with substantial funding exceeding R$20 million. This resulted in successful results during the four-year period, including the acquisition of metal additive manufacturing equipment, a high-resolution transmission electron microscope, thermophysical analysis, creep testing, and computer simulation resources. In the medium and long term, the FINEP/FNDCT Project (Process Number 01.24.0531.00) stands out, entitled "Integrated Center for Research, Development, Innovation, and Characterization in Additive Manufacturing - CIMA-IME," effective November 12, 2024, to November 12, 2027. This project, initiated at the end of this four-year period (2021-2024), will be implemented in the next four-year period (2025-2028) in a new infrastructure, which will allow for a change in the philosophy of expanding the infrastructure managed by PPGCEM in the following years.
The following are the current projects with resources obtained from research funding agencies, with the participation of PPGCM/IME professors.
