Laboratory Description
Laboratory dedicated to the research and development of polymer composites reinforced with natural fibers for ballistic applications. In this laboratory, composites are produced by cold compression molding or additive manufacturing using the DLP method. The obtained samples are subjected to tests for physical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, and ballistic characterization. These characterizations are supported by other laboratories within the section, such as electron microscopy, mechanical testing, X-ray diffraction, and ceramic materials laboratories. For ballistic tests, support is provided by Line IV of the Army Evaluation Center (CAEx).
