In addition to what is established in the NICPG, master's student of the Graduate Program in Materials Science must take the Materials Science course and at least two of the following mandatory courses:

- Materials Testing

- Experimental Techniques for Materials Science

- Thermodynamics of Materials

- Microstructural Engineering

- Crystallography and X-Ray Diffraction

- Mechanical Behavior of Materials I

- Electron Microscopy
