Nutritional biochemistry is a core course of B.Sc. (Honours) Biochemistry Programme (BSCBCH) which is being offered as the fifth Semester course under UGC-CBCS Scheme. The theory course of Nutritional biochemistry (BBCET-141) is of 4 credits and a separate laboratory course (BBCEL-142) worth 2 credits is offered along with this course.

It is a famous saying that you are what you eat. Therefore, it is important to understand the concept of nutrition and its relation to health. Healthy food includes the right combination and proportion of all the nutrients and any imbalances lead to deficiency diseases. Not only right type of food, but correct life style is also necessary for a healthy body and mind. The course takes into consideration all these factors and provides detailed information on various aspects.The course is divided into 4 blocks, each block is based on a common theme. The course consists of 12 units.
