South Africa is a country which is on the extreme tip of the African continent and is characterized by a great variety of ecosystems.
It borders to the north with Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe and to the north-east with Mozambique and Swaziland. Because of climate variations, the vegetation is differentiated.
In Western areas the climate is less rainy. In the east there is the savannah, often rich in plants, such as acacia and baobab and the tropical forest.
Thanks to the climate farming is very extensive. The most important is sheep breeding.
South Africa is the best wool producer. Pigs, horses and poultry are also bred. Fishing is very important too, with an equipped and organized sector; the most important products are sardines, anchovies, mackerel and cod.
This country has eleven official languages because this place has many types of cultures. The most dominant languages are English and Africaans.
The South African flag was made to symbolize unity. Black symbolizes people, green the fertility of the earth and gold the mineral wealth under the earth. The flag was born in 1993 and adopted on April 27, 1994.
