Agriculture and mineral exports have had a strong relevance for the growth Australian economy; currently the country is one of the world’s leading mineral suppliers.
It is a huge exporter of wheat, meat, dairy products and wool.
ABORIGINES
ABORIGINES
The first Australians were Aborigines. This name was given to them by the Europeans who went there. The aborigines prefer to call themselves “Koori”. They are a dark skinned people who probably arrived from Asia around 60.000 years ago.
Before the first white settlers came there were about 300.000 Aborigines and 250 different tribal groups.
