It is a huge exporter of wheat, meat, dairy products and wool.
The first Australians were Aborigines. This name was given to them by the Europeans who went there. The aborigines prefer to call themselves “Koori”. They are a dark skinned people who probably arrived from Asia around 60.000 years ago.
Before the first white settlers came there were about 300.000 Aborigines and 250 different tribal groups.
