Lesson 15: continue on worksheet (1st period), continue on GRAMMY discussion (2nd period)

• collect homework from last time

• start the Circle of fifth (key signatures)

  • 7 sharps (#) in total: F# C# G# D# A# E# B#

  • 7 flats (b) in total: Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Cb Fb

  • move 5 pitches up or down starting on the middle C to find out major scales use how many sharps and/or flats

  • write them out on staff papers

  • homework: due next week

• Vocal project commentary presentation (2nd period)

• continue on the GRAMMY award (2nd period)

  • listen to the last two songs from the Record Of The Year section

  • from the Record Of The Year, after listened to all the songs on the nominated list, discussion (in both with these questions in mind:

    • Why do you think "Everything I wanted" won this year's Record Of The Year?

      • Think about the meaning of lyrics, the structure of the music, the melody of the music

    • Pretend you're a members of the adjudicator team for the GRAMMY, which song you will vote for the Record Of The Year and why?

      • Also think about your reasons from different point of views (lyrics, structure, melody, mixing, etc.)
