As we study music, we practice taking on three different roles: A researcher, a creator, and a performer. Each role will develop different skills, and allow us to discover music from different perspectives.
We will learn to investigate music, and understand how music fits within history and culture. We will learn how to write effectively using academic English.
We will make music through composing, improvising and arranging. We will learn how to develop a musical idea into a piece, and also record and notate our work.
We will practice presenting music, considering musical communication, interpretation and technical proficiency. We will also support and encourage our classmates in their performances.
