This is a new course where you can explore, experiment, and present music in different aspects and genres. This course is in English, and you will have a lot of opportunities to improve your English skills. This may sound challenging, but your teacher will be here to help you in many different ways!
Hello! My name is Terri Lui. I teach IB Music and English Oral Communication class. I'm from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, but I was born in Hong Kong. I can speak 4 languages (English, Cantonese (廣東話), a little bit of Mandarin (北京語) and Japanese). This is my fifth year living in Japan, and my first year living in Sendai by myself! (I was an exchange student of Ikuei!)
I can play almost all the Western musical instruments (except Guitar and Violin). I am most good at playing Percussion (my main instrument in university), Piano (started when I was 5 years old), Flute (my sub instrument in university), and Trombone (played it in Jazz band because I wasn't a good Jazz drummer). I also compose and arrange music for myself and my brass band ensemble students to go to ensemble contest!
IB Music is a fun class and I hope you'll enjoy it! But there is also a lot of work... If you have any questions, feel free to ask me because I would be happy to be able to help!
Took it when I was teaching in Iwate 2 years ago. Couldn't find any new pictures...
