Locating Scores (for a Magazine Article only)
With a score : article. Without a score : interview or review.
Begin by searching for a score for the type of piece you are looking for.
1,000 Recordings to pick & then find the score
World Sound Matters - free
www.imslp.org - usually free
https://www.8notes.com/world/ - usually free
http://www.free-scores.com/ - search by ‘music styles’, usually free
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ - for free chord charts
https://archive.org/details/fakebooks&tab=collection - for free lead sheets
http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ - free sheet music
ぷりんと楽譜 - good website for Japanese pop songs but need to pay
Google search - you might have to purchase it
If you choose without a score, you must choose a piece that is aurally outlined in:
World Music, A Global Journey
World Music, Traditions & Transformations
American Popular Music
Listening to Music
Find a recording of the same version of the song on CD or buy it iTunes
You CANNOT use a YouTube video, you must OWN the song & have the file digitally downloaded.
Make sure it’s the same version of the song as your score by checking the first pitch, name of composer &/or arranger.
Work on your Discography by adding each song when you choose it.
