Lesson 9: More planning on Experimenting music as a performer
Check Music Journals together, with points to check from me!
I should be finishing all of your individual meetings today, so I should explain more about how you should carry out this section of the experiment.
Please continue your research on different music genres categorized as Western Art Music
group them under at least one of four AOIs if possible (we'll do this in class as this is arguable)
also try to group some genres with specific examples under your personal, local, global context (especially your personal context)
Mondays will be designated for Exploring music (as a researcher and creator) and Experimenting music (as a researcher and creator) in the classroom until the end of 2nd year for now.
Experiment time period: until the end of 2nd year (the end of March)
Record your progress of working towards your set rationale on a regular basis in your Music Journal, with supporting materials needed (e.g. method books, practice materials, websites, YouTube videos, private lessons, etc.)
All Thursdays from next week (I hope) will be designated as your experiment day (and/or anything performance related) in the Music Room. Make it as your routine even if coming up Thursday might be a public holiday or test day!
Have a detailed practice/experiment plans to show your steps towards your rationale
If you're asked to redo your rationale because you've changed your instrument, please submit a new one
Be sure to include diverse music materials that covers your personal, local, global context, and at least one of the four AOIs!
Sound record at least 3 times of your step-up progress towards your rationale, as it can be used as evidence towards your final experimental report for this part of the assessment! (check the guide or the school's website for details)
The most important point towards experimenting music is YOUR WORK PROGRESSION in detail in your Music Journal! Not a perfect end product!
