from what we've learned last class and today, compose your own rhythmic ostinati
this is an individual assignment which will be marked using the assessment criterion of experimenting with music (check under student's guide, or document on the post from me on Slack in the music channel)
Rules:
two 2-bar or more ostinati (you're more than welcome to write more!!)
must have a time signature (can be simple or compound or even odd ones)
must have a reasonable bpm (don't set one that's too fast to perform!! And if possible, perform with the metronome set on the bpm)
must use at least one half note/rest, one quarter note/rest, one 8th note/rest, one 16th note/rest
must be written down (on provided paper, with your name on it) using western music notations that we've learn from last class (1-line staff)
you must be able to repeat it 4 times
perform on one instrument or one item (any instrument/item is fine)
Due: Friday, March 5th
Performance (presentation of your ostinati with rationale): until further notice (planning on Monday, March 8th)
