National Programme for Practising Teaching Assistants
Target audience: Teaching Assistants who have been in post for two years or more.
A national programme for Teaching Assistants who would welcome an update on the changing context of the profession. This is available to all schools and settings, with activities delivered in Welsh, English or bilingually. A combination of activities, self-directed study, support, reflection and networking.
To raise awareness of the Professional Standards for Assisting Teaching, current relevant strategies to support practice and a range of ideas and strategies to inspire professionalism back in school.
To encourage establishing and improving professional Networks and collaboration among teaching assistants within and between schools.
Event details:
This national programme will be delivered regionally by Partneriaeth. A two- day face to face programme or 4 x two-hour session virtual session.
The 4 modules will explore:
The Welsh Education Context – my responsibilities as a professional in Welsh education
Professional Standards for Assisting Teaching
The Curriculum for Wales and supporting frameworks
Pedagogy, developing my craft to support learners.
A two day face to face programme with sessions available in each of the local authorities during the autumn term 2023.

HLTA Development Day
Target audience: An event of interest to all who have been awarded HLTA status by Welsh Government.
A National HLTA Development Day delivered regionally by all consortia and partnerships. This event is for all Higher Level Teaching Assistants across Wales who aim to further develop their understanding of new developments.
All who have been awarded HLTA status by Welsh Government since the introduction of the status in 2003 are invited to attend.
Event details:
A face to face event, venue to be confirmed, with a theme of celebrating the work of Higher Level Teaching Assistants in Partneriaeth schools; sharing opportunities for Teaching Assistants; displaying practitioner good practice and introducing inspirational guest speakers. Stakeholders are invited to attend to promote their support e.g. Unions, universities, educational bodies.
