What course credit is offered?
A-G and/or Non A-G Electives
Some VPA and ASL I and II
Why is it Popular?
Offers the most extensive list of UC Approved elective courses. More recently they have added several VPA courses as well as ASL for World Language credit.
eDynamic Learning offers courses to obtain certification for CTE pathways (HSTs see your HST Handbook, CTE page).
Content includes videos, podcasts, interactive online activities, iTunes integration and professional graphics and animation.
Who corrects the student’s work?
When ordering Self Paced, the student’s Learning Coach (parent, instructor, or other) manages the student’s course and corrects the embedded assignments not auto-corrected via their teacher account. This option is not allowed for CTE courses.
When ordering instructor -led , the eDynamic Learning instructor will manage the teacher account. Students are able to communicate with their instructor by email or the communication tool in Buzz (eDynamic’s LMS). The student and observer/HST can find contact information for the instructor on the first page of the course where there is a bio on the teacher and their contact details.
When ordered from another online curriculum provider (such as BYU Ind. Study, FLVS, Pearson Online, ASU Prep, Williamsburg Academy), the vendor’s instructor is assigned to the course.
Good to Know A-G
For “a-g” credit, the student must complete the full course as written, including the midterm and final exams.
Some courses may require additional material; most will be found in a typical home.
Good to Know Non A-G
For non “a-g” credit, the student’s learning coach may omit the midterm and final exams. Pathways course title for the MA, when taking for non “a-g” elective credit, will be a non “a-g” elective.
When taking the course for non “a-g” elective credit, courses with up to 8 units are worth 5 credits while courses with between 10-12 units may be worth 10 credits.
This option is not allowed for courses needed in a CTE pathway.
How do I collect Work Samples?
The student’s written assignments (embedded assignments not auto-graded) may be posted in the "submission box" as straight text or a document upload. The student is able to copy and paste that to their HST to prove work completed as well as show the activity which will offer assignment completion dates.
