Why is Oak Meadow popular?
Oak Meadow has been a curriculum provider for the homeschooling family since 1975. They offer print-based curriculum with a clear pacing guide for every course, allowing the student to work independently through their courses. History is textbook independent.
Oak Meadow provides flexible, progressive homeschooling curriculum for students in K-12. Their student-centered, nature-based approach allows families to set their own natural rhythm of learning and encourages creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual development through hands-on activities and interdisciplinary projects.
What will the course look like?
Each course comes with a syllabus (or coursebook) which provides the student a clear pacing guide or plan, laid out for every week of the semester. See all Curriculum Samples.
Who will correct student work?
Teacher Manuals are sold separately. The instructor (parent or other) for the student is responsible for correcting the student’s work.
What else should I know?
Oak Meadow is a non-aligned offering that can be utilized with the A-G Guides and I Can documents for core courses.
Courses are purchased and used independently (do not enroll in Oak Meadow School).
Courses available for purchase from Oak Meadow Bookstore through Procurify.
Oak Meadow electives sold through the bookstore may be used for non “a-g” elective credit.
Oak Meadow history courses are written to be textbook independent. Students complete the assignments given in the history course syllabus using the Oak Meadow suggested standard text or they may opt to use a text of choice (both will need the AG guide for HS and I Can statements for TK-8).
