Using an embroidery machine,thread, shirt, and stabilizer, I created a design that said "class of 2028" but the 0 is a flower because my first time making this design, I ruined the shirt by embroidering it together. I wanted to fix all the problems from my first time making this design but I still ran into new problems.

During this process, I learned how to replace the bobbin thread. One of our rough draft designs came up all white, the bobbin thread was coming up all the way. After figuring out the problem we found out that the bobbin thread was put in backwards.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I created a design with a unique piece of equipment. I've used this equipment once before and I've learned so much. Going from not knowing what stabilizer was to now knowing how to fix all types of problems .

A challenge I overcame on this project was embroidering my shirt together. I was able to do it by moving the back part of the shirt out of the way before starting my design . It was a simple fix that made my project so much better.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the placement of the design. The reason why I would change it is because my design looks awkward with a random placement. I didn't measure the placement at all but next time I should.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Architecture, Industrial designer, and Interior designer . This CTE connection is my favorite.
