7P2- Cardboard Project

• Using cardboard, hot glue, paint, aluminum foil, and string I created a shoe because a shoe is an everyday item that I wear. I used a different groups idea of a shoe and created my own version. Our shoe is the brand, SIE (Sydney,Isabella,Elsie). Our shoe is red with blue shoelaces.

• During this process, I learned how use cardboard to build a model of a shoe. I cut, hot glued, and painted cardboard to make a model. I was able to prosecute my idea through cardboard.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovate designer because I was able to solve problems within my model and make my design better. To create this project I had to find a model and plan out how to create a model with the materials given. My project ties to innovative designer in many ways.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to use the right materials. I was able to do it by changing from cardboard which is very stiff and not flexible, to aluminum foil which is a lot easier to bend and work with. By using the right material for the right parts of my project, everything was more efficient.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change  measurements of the show. The reason why I would change is to make the shoe a more accurate model.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the constitution trades CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Construction,Building Systems Technician,Carpentry, Drywall and Ceiling Tile Installers,Electrical, HVACR, Masonry, Painting, and Plumbing. My project connects to these jobs because my project was hands-on, required creativity and problem solving.
