Using cardboard, hot glue, popsicle sticks, and scissors I created a car out of cardboard because I saw other people do it last year and it looked fun. The most important material for my project was the cardboard and hot glue. My car has functioning doors and two people inside. 

During this process, I learned when to use different types of cardboard for different purposes. When I was making the wheels, I used a thinner and more flexible type of cardboard compared to when I was making the base of the car when I used a thicker, sturdier type. Being supplied with different varieties of different types of cardboard made the project more efficient.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I designed my model with unique materials. I created a mini car with cardboard. I didn't have a plan going into the project so I just planned it as I went on.

A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing what to do for my project. I was able to do it by looking at others past projects. I wanted to create something with cardboard because there's a big variety of different things I could do with cardboard.

Given a chance to do this again, I would add more detail to the car. The reason why I would do this is because my project is really simple. I could've painted the car, make the wheels work or add more parts to the car.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the  engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Architecture, Industrial designer, and Interior designer.  Engineering design is my favorite CTE program to do in this class.
