What do I plan to do?
For this project, I plan to make instructional videos. These videos are intended to help people know how to correctly use the embroidery machine and not have to watch a billion YouTube video tutorials and not find exactly what they need.
Who will I be working with?
For this project, I plan to work with nobody. I will not be working with anyone because this is more of a one-person project than a two-person project because there isn't much you can do with 2 people and one iPad .
What are some unique qualities?
One unique quality this project will have is that these videos are meant to be quick, short, and right to the point so people don't have to skip through a 10-minute YouTube video.
What materials will I need for this project?
For this project, I will need a few materials. First, I will need an embroidery machine so that I can demonstrate what to do. Second, I will need fabric and fabric lining so that I have something to further demonstrate how to use the machine. 3rd, I will need an Ipad to record and edit the videos
For this project I used an Ipad, fabric, fabric lining and an embroidery machine to make tutorial videos on how to use the embroidery machine. I chose to make embroidery tutorial videos because over this semester I have used it a bunch and I've learned so many new things about this machine so I want to make it easier for others. While I was making the videos one thing I learned was how to insert text into multiple parts of the tutorial. This was very helpful for me because it takes less time to do than doing a voice over. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen. I feel that my project relates to Digital Citizen because I am making safe videos for anyone to veiw at any time and the music I use in the videos are free to use and not copyrghted. One main challenge I overcame while working on this project was recording the videos when people couldn't help me at the moment. This was a challenge for me because I had to show what to do while holding the Ipad to record. I overcame this challenge by trying diffrent ways to hold the Ipad without using my hands. If I had the chance to this project again, one things I would change is the amount of videos I have. I would change this because 2 videos don't quite show how to do everything with the machine. I want to make the process easy and fun for as many people as possible. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project relates to the Digital Multimedia CTE program. These relate because my project deals with sharing helpful information through digital sharing. My Project Connects to carrers related to teaching because I am teaching others how to do/use the Embroidey Machine.
