Project 1

Planning Questions

While working on the project, I had partners. I was partners with Carter and Demetrious. For this project, I will need Playdough, a compatible website, a makey makey, and a can-do attitude. In this project, we plan to make a  controller for an etch a sketch.  There are many unique qualities a project can have. A quality our project includes is arrows.  We turned the playdough into arrows so you could tell the differences between buttons. Another quality is that the buttons were not as thin so that the playdough would last in its shape longer.

Reflection

• Using a computer, makey makey, and playdough, I created an etch a sketch because we thought it might be good for a first project to get an idea of how it works..

• During this process, I learned how to make a makey makey do certain commands.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowerd learner because I made sure to ask and use resources for help.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was finding a useable program. I was able to do it by using different keywords in the search bar.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the tidiness of the area along with the sensibility. The reason why I would change it is because cords would get in the way and we had to move them multiple times.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in  app/software programing because be hads to program the makey makey to awnser to certain commands

Planning Questions

Using the same materials from the last project, we plan to make a controller for a fighting game. My 2 teammates are Carter and Demetrious. Some unique qualities our project will include are: a tin foil band to go around your hand for working controls, labeled buttons, and buttons that have good sensors.

Reflection

Using a Makey Makey, playdough, and a computer, I created a game controller because it was a good idea to do something a little bit more advanced or different.

• During this process, I learned that there are a lot more possibilities than you may think there are.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because we got everybody's ideas out onto paper without just asking one person for ideas and ignoring the rest.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was  finding a compatible game I was able to do it by experimenting to see what  we could potentially find on the internet 

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the game to something a little bit more challenging. The reason why I would change it is because I think that it makes it intense yet fun.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in electronic designing .
