Today I started taking my monitor apart.

Today I unscrewed pieces from the computer but kept all the motherboard items in one piece.

Today I added catchers so the puck doesn't fly out when you make a goal.

Today I finished my project.
Using an old monitor, I created an air hockey table because I thought it would be a good use of the inside pieces of the monitor. It took me six days to complete my project. I had lots of fun with this project, taking apart and upcycling the monitor.
During this process, I learned how to safely take apart a monitor. I took out the motherboard and wires without damaging them. I never used the wires but at the time I didn't know what I was going to create.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I came up with ideas and solved problems along the way. Also, I used online sources to try to find my initial idea.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making my choice on my project I was able to do it by taking apart my monitor and looking over my parts. I then found out what pieces I needed and started. I used my pieces wisely and that's why my project didn't take that long to finish.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way I used my time. The reason why I would change it is because I had to finish the rest of my website at home. I had to write this paragraph and add the final touches to my website at home.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project ties to Engineering Design because I engineered a way to take the monitor apart and create an air hockey table.
My project connects to careers in Research Engineering because I researched ideas to start my project. I found ideas for a mirror which kind of inspired me to make the air hockey board. I then took apart the monitor and found the perfect parts for my project .
