Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team.
What materials will you need for your project?
Some materials needed for my project are cardboard boxes, duct tape, hot glue, rulers, popcicle sticks, tinfoil and crayons.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan in this project is to create a fully functional basketball arcade game.(made out of cardboard).
What unique qualities will your project have?
Some unique qualities my project will have is one of balls with be made out of a ping pong ball covered in tinfoil covered in hot glue covered in melted crayon.
Using cardboard boxes and supplies, I created a fully functional basketball game because my group and I wanted to make a game involving some sort of ball and basketball is pretty fun. Basketball was a very fun game to build too.
During this process, I learned how to use cardboard as a tool and building block in an arcade game. I learned how to work successfully with new partners. I also learned how to strategically use different tools and supplies to make a complete project.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I tested ideas for the project and solved problems and roadblocks that got in my group's way. I also let my group share ideas of their own and added on to their ideas too..
A challenge I overcame on this project was using tablets to share pictures or videos with friends. I was able to do it by acknowledging the problem and giving it time and by asking for advice and some tips/help. I was also asking my group members to help me try to solve this roadblock.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way I used my weekend or after school time. The reason why I would change it is because I almost didn't get a good grade on a project because I didn't use my time wisely and I rushed myself. I am very glad I could get most of the project done and not be days behind.
