7P5 - 3D Design

Using Tinkercad and a 3D printer, I created a mini back scratcher because I thought it would help around he house. If someone has a itchy back, they can use a 3D printed back scratcher. I thought a back scratcher would be a fun and cool idea to make.

During this process, I learned to use Tinkercad. I also learned to make a 3D design and that Tinkercad makes it easy to come up with ideas and make them. Tinkercad made it easy because it had a lot of shapes to use for ideas.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen because  I acted safley and responsibly online. Also, I managed my own online security by myself and followed specific online rules so I could use Tinkercad to create 3D objects.  

A challenge I overcame on this project was adding hte right shapes to my object to make it detailed and work. I was able to do it by looking at most of the categories of shapes. I could then pick out a specific shape for my project.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how many different shapes I used in my design. The reason why I would change it is because It took very long to find a very specific shape with the basic shapes. I started off trying to use so many different basic shapes than just using a couple specific shapes.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in Project Engineering.
