Final Video Component Instructions

The expectation for the video component of the final debate is an original, well-organized, persuasive, professional argument video (PSA style) in support of your position for the assigned topic.

The requirements are as follows:

1. The video must be between 55 and 65 seconds in length.
2. Your group must turn-in a neat, final copy of a storyboard that details the thought process and planning your group performed before the actual filming of the video (to be turned into ________ on Wednesday or Thursday ________ or ________ during class).
3. The video can be live-action, stop-motion, animated, or any combination of these or other video techniques.
4. All members are expected to participate equally in the production of the video, but not all members are required to be on camera.
5. Your group must submit a proper hardcopy MLA works consulted for your video (to be turned into ________ on Wednesday or Thursday _________ or _______ during class).
6. Your group must email a YouTube link for your group video to Mrs. Garvar before 7:00am on __TBA_____. Your email must include your group number in the subject line. Only send one email per group. Only the first email will be accepted.

Video Production:

To shoot your video, you can use a digital camera or just a smartphone (Most modern phones have cameras that far exceed the required quality of what you will be filming). Film more than what you think you will need, but do not film too much content as it will lead to lengthy sessions during the downloading and editing process. The better organization you have going into this process, the more time you will save later in the production.

Video Editing:

Use any video editing program to edit your video. There are several free editors from Microsoft Movie Maker to YouTube Editor as well as several free apps for your smart phone.
