Letter Hopscotch

Instead of words, use upper or lower case letters. Each letter should be one a separate sheet of paper; these will be the tiles. Begin with the letters in your child’s name first (you can have multiples of the same letter). If your child knows his/her letters, then interchange them with others. Write numbers 1-15 (or however many tiles you decide to have) on a small piece of paper and place in a cup. Have your child pull a number, identify the number, and hop/jump that many tiles. Your child should identify the letter (alternatives: identify letter sound and/or provide a word that starts with that letter).

Letter Sound Scavenger Hunt

Tell your child we're going on a scavenger hunt! Let's look for objects around our house that make the /p/ sound! (To make it more meaningful, you can pick the beginning sound of your child's name or family member's name)

*You can also gather a collection of items and sort them into two different categories. Objects that make the /s/ sound and objects that make the /m/ sound.
