Term two - weeks 1-4

You will be learning to mihi to others.
Get the print out from whaea to help you choose the first mihi you will use.
Make your choice, make sure they make sense and begin learning it.
Your ongoing mahi for term one and two is getting ready for your assessment (10 credits).
The assessment covers you planning, cooking, serving and cleaning up for visitors in the wharekai.
This will be for a hui ā whānau for NHK whānau.
It will happen at the end of term two.
To be successful:
You will need to plan the food you will make - thinking about numbers, dietry requirements and enjoyment for your manuhiri. You will have a team to help you with preparing the kai.
You will need to set up the whare for manuhiri, this needs to be planned first, based on numbers.
You will need to serve kai and drinks, lead karakia, make sure you top up kai and drinks while peoiple are still eating.
After eating, you need to clear the kai and drinks in a way that does not disturb the visitors.
You will need to clean the whare and your will need to correctly tend to unused food, dispose of all rubbish and clean, dry and put away all dishes.
Participate in a debrief at the end of service.

What will you need?
What will need to be done on the day? -Make a checklist.
