You should have finished your first assessment by now. If you haven't, please work with Te Marunui for support and get it done. These slideshows support you with what you need to do for your second assessment and being ready for your externals.

Week 9/10 term one. You should be getting more familiar with elements of te Ao Haka. You should also be getting closer to finishing your first assessmnet. Please make the best use of your time.
Year 11
Looking at the elements listed beow, you need to choose two to focus on along with wiri, takahi and pūkana.
You will need to create a presentation explaining each element, the whakapapa of it and demonstrate how it is done and how it may differ between iwi.
This will be the basis of your first assessment. Your assessment will be used to teach our school kapahaka about the components of performance.
Year 12
Your focus will be on the elements of composing.

Focusing on making notes about the decisions you are making to do with:
rhythm, dynamics, melody, phrasing, harmony, shape, space, energy, characterisation, voice, imagery, metaphor, point of view, setting, tone, composition structure.
Year 13
You will focus on reflecting on your journey of learning haka, right from the very first time through to now.
Include ages. haka learnt, teachers, elements of haka, understanding, performances and anything else you can think of and remember.
Reflect on a personal learning journey in a discipline of Te Ao Haka involves:
exploring the development of skills within a discipline
providing examples of how and when that learning occurred.
Evaluate a personal learning journey in a discipline of Te Ao Haka involves:
identifying key learning moments and their impact on personal practice of Te Ao Haka
making suggestions on what could have been done differently.
Justify reflections on a personal learning journey in a discipline of Te Ao Haka involves:
examining the life skills developed through the study of the discipline
explaining why the personal learning journey is being represented through the chosen discipline
connecting the personal learning journey in this discipline to the wider context of the study of Te Ao Haka.
